Our love story began when I was introduced to Jennifer’s auntie, by a sister from my congregation, when they visited the hospital I work at. She (Jennifer’s auntie) will occasionally stop by to see me whenever she comes to the hospital causing a hearty friendship to develop. After some months of regular interactions, she told me about her niece, Jennifer and how she believes with our attributes, we can hit it off easily; she gave Jennifer’s number to me and mine to her. I was a little skeptical initially because she lives in country thousands of miles away from mine and I had my own aversions and misgivings about long-distance relationships. After careful consideration, I decided to give it a go, after all, love endures all things including vast distances. I texted her! Not knowing what response to expect but when she finally responded, my first impression was “Wow she is so amiable”. Since then, not a day went by without hearing from each other, thanks to whatsapp and the other social media platforms. As time went by, we realized we had so much in common and like each other a lot. She was the first person I talk to in the morning and the last person I talk to before bed. We knew then that we wanted to take our relationship to the next level. We decided that before we could go any further, we needed to see each other in person. We made the necessary arrangements. In July 2018 after finishing her nursing program, Jennifer took a trip to Ghana with her mother and little sister. During her stay in Ghana, we spent a great amount of time together. We traveled along the coast of Ghana visiting some of the most exciting tourist places that came to mind, such as Cape Coast Castel and Kakum National Park. I was so excited when I introduced Jennifer to my family and she also did the same. The day Jennifer left Ghana to go back to the States was one of the gloomiest days for both of us. But one thing for sure is we have been inseparable since the day I sent my first text message to her. We have not only become lovers but best friends as well. We officially introduced our two extended families by the customary “knocking on the door” ceremony, a cultural engagement, which took place some few months ago in Agona in the Ashanti region of Ghana. More than anything else, our love for Jehovah has made our love for each other stronger. Through our regular studies and prayers together we have become inseparable, something we wish to maintain for the rest of our lives. We cannot wait for this exciting new chapter of our life to begin!!! J&K 7.24.2021
